Default Striper kind of morning 111719

Dr Phil and I decided to fish the tailwater below Watts Bar dam today instead of fishing the crappie tournament. We did very well for the two hours that we fished in the fog.

We landed 7 Stripers plus 3 Skipjack Herring on 2” chartreuse Foley flutter spoons. Water temp was 56.7 and flowrate was 35,000 cfs. We had it to ourselves the first hour before a couple more brave souls dared the foggy conditions. We kept our limit of Stripers for the table. They are great on the grill or fried if you prefer.

As soon as the fog lifted, we quit fishing. Some of my friends think that I fish in a fog all the time. Lolol.

I like to coat the fillets with light olive oil and then season them with Everglades Original seasoning or with Montreal steak seasoning and grill on my Forman grill for 6 minutes or so depending on thickness of fillet. The taste of grilled Striper is second to none if you get all the red very thin streaks off the fillet. I don’t have a gas grill but the Foreman does nicely.

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
