I also had them fried at one of the shindigs. They were very good. Several years back I was at a sporting goods store on the Illinois River and they were promoting different ways to utilize them. They were giving away bottles of liquid, well semi liquid, fertilizer that was made from them.
They also had made a big cooker of sloppy joes out of them. Made like barbecue or hunts man-which. It was good. It tasted almost the same as the hunts man-which stuff.
Well I went to the IGA and bought two bags for our weekly finger food Friday beer session this past week. I gotta say I’d eat it any day. I’d rather have carp than catfish. Not quite as good as crappie but it’s real close. The texture is firm. I’ll start keeping them when I take the bow out.
