Well, my pic taker let me down and we didn’t get the pics that I thought we were getting, but the story is good. Grin.
My brother in law, Leon, met me below Watts Bar dam this morning for some Striper fishing, and we were the first ones on the water and TVA was running almost 36,000 cfs but after just 4 or 5 drifts they cut back on the flow to 20,000 cfs which resulted in a one foot drop in water level. Leon caught the first Striper on our third drift. The 4th drift he missed one and then the water flow was greatly reduced.
It took me a few drifts to find where the fish moved to, but we ended up with 4 eating size Stripers and I had one Striper straighten a hook out enough to pull off and after repairing that jig, the next big Striper pulled off for no apparent reason after a one minute fight. Then I landed our 4th keeper and we put boat on trailer and went to the ramp above the dam to crappie fish in the lake. That was our plan all along,
I have not crappie fished in Watts Bar this year I don’t think. I can’t remember it if I did. The first two spots that I checked held no fish. Then I went into a cove that I knew had brush but I had no waypoints on my new graph so I had to search with side scan and down scan to find the brush.
I found some with a few fish on, not a huge school, but quality fish. I caught the first two white crappie, 13.75” and 14.5” TARP, then Leon caught a 12” white crappie. I got a good pic of his 12” fish, but he flubbed the 13.75” fish pic and had the TARP fish on video so I don’t have a still of it but it weighed 1 lb 12 ozs.
We fished a little over an hour for Stripers and about 2.5 hrs for crappie. We did a lot of scouting and I ran to the spot and marked it on my graph where we put out 3 crappie hotels yesterday. Before anyone asks, they are in the water. Lolol.
Water temp was 64.7 degrees.
I am sorry, but none of my pics will upload from this site. I don’t know what has happened. It may be that my IPad is screwed.

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6drumking thanked you for this post
