Nice mess of fish.
I bought a Bass Raider 10E from Academy and spent just about every other weekend this summer mapping out Lake Woodhaven in Montgomery Bell State Park while Bass fishing. I usually start my day by throwing out a jig, but only caught 1 or 2 crappie the entire summer. I knew they were in there, and I knew by water temperature about what depth they SHOULD be at, but never had any luck. On Labor Day I buckled down, bought a bucket of minnows and decided I was going to figure out exactly where these fish were. After trolling around for an hour and a half with a couple dropshots in the water, I caught my first Crappie. I kept the boat around that spot for an hour and caught 10 Crappie, not a bad haul.
I think I finally figured out exactly where they are on the lake. I'm not going to give too many details because it's only a 50-acre lake and I can't have too many people knowing the secrets that I spent the summer figuring out. I'm just glad to know that I have a spot 5 minutes up the road in Dickson County where I can go and catch a mess of Crappie. Before this, I would have to drive for an hour or better.
For the record, I don't usually keep the bass I catch out of there, but this one was 17" and had swallowed one minnow with the hook and was going for the second one when I caught him.

Good job figuring em out! Nice mess!
Good catch and welcome to the TN board. Great first post!!
Nice work! Woodhaven is my nearest lake too. There are some REALLY big crappie in that lake, but I've caught and thrown back so many 8 inchers this year I think the next few years are gonna be fun out there.

Just slowing down and thinking it through helps.

'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
Can you put a boat in there with a gasoline motor as long as you only use your trolling motor? I'm camping there in October and wondered if I could bring my boat.
Unfortunately, no. I wondered the same thing and asked a ranger directly. You'd have to pull the gas motor off.
