Great report, great pic, thanks for sharing.
Overcast day! My kind of day otherwise forget it in August.
Thought it may be a good time to take that special someone who has been asking.
Wanna go fishing? I asked
Yeah! Was the reply
Well let's go I said.
After grabbing a few snacks she was in the truck and ready to go.
We did some dock shooting, countdown casting, and verticle jigging.
Dock shooting produced the best numbers at 85 degree water temps.
We caught 18 fish with 11 keepers before we tired out and called it quits.
A few of those crappie came home for a lemon pepper and cherry wood bath but the rest were released for another time.
On this trip I tried out the 6lb fireline tracer line. It has 5ft of low viz line then 5ft of high viz line and so on. The high viz is not as high viz as mono but sure made depth count easy on a verticle jig. I believe this line is actually stronger than 6lb since I straightened hooks out before breaking off. I hope to give this line a go in October and November when verticle jigging is king. But until then the verdict is out.

That’s awesome and a very timely post for me. I watched my baby girl drive away on her way to college yesterday. It about killed me. Hang on to those days as long as you can.
