    Default Short Sunday trip. 72819

Dr Phil and I had plans for a 3 hour trip sort of like Gilligan and the Skipper had but were hoping that we didn’t shipwreck on Skull Island. Lolol.

We wanted to fish for crappie until sunrise and then drift for Blue catfish the rest of the time. You remember my boat rule that says that we can’t change locations until we each have a cast without catching a fish? I thought for the first hour and 5 minutes that we were just going to have a crappie day. But we finally had a cast that we didn’t get bit and so we move to the catfish hole. We landed 20 crappie and released them all.

The cats didn’t want to play. We only caught one each and I kept the biggest one that was 8-9 pounds for the freezer. Released the other one. We did have a beautiful sunrise.

Water flow was 19,500 and 84.4 surface temp. Bobby Garland Baby Shads in Licorice//Chartreuse, Black Knight, and Blue Ice were the colors that produced. Garlic flavored hot dogs were cat baits. I’m glad that I don’t do much slimer fishing. Lolol.

I like that Blue Ice Bobby Garland bait. Dip his tail in Chartreuse dye and hang on. Nice catch and report as always.

Good Job! It's been a long while since I have targeted the whiskered critters. The last time I did it did involve hotdogs, can't remember if they were garlic flavored or not but it was fun. And I still remember the spot...
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
