Where is this Second Creek/High Banks area where the man got the flesh eating bacteria? You guys still eating the fish there with that infected water? I'm asking because we usually fish Guntersville Lake here in Alabama.
Ok, so basically, the Doctors lied and the man's wife lied? So he had to have a wound? The wife and the Doctor both said they checked him good and he had no wound or cut. Then the Alabama Department of Health website states not to eat contaminated fish? Um ....? Aren't the fish in the water then all contaminated?
My post refers to salt and brackish water infections. The TN River system, which has experienced major flooding of farm lands and sewage treatment plants, is probably now contaminated with high concentrations of Strephococcus pyogenes, which can cause this type of flesh eating bacteria. Properly cooked fish and personal sanitation are the best precautions available. A simple scathing of an itch can break the barrier the integumentary system provides. That would be difficult to diagnose. As is water going up the nose, into the eyes, rectum and urethra.
