Default planning a trip to Norris

we are going camping at Norris at end of july with some friends. We are taking a boat so anyone have any advice? I know July is not prime time to fish, but was thinking about fishing at night with a light. Not particular about what we catch.

Under the lights at night is a good idea on Norris in July. You can target Stripers, Walleyes and Crappie at night, as well as Catfish and Drum. The lake is very clear and deep, so plan on having a good anchor and lots of rope to use to tie off and get set up at night. Not many reports on here from Norris as it is a tough nut to crack, but it does have some good fishing if you hit it right. The lake is also full of trophy smallmouth Bass, just hard to catch in July. Bring light line/ finesse gear and you should hook up with something that will stretch your line! Good luck.

If it’s not fishing well, move to the tail waters.....the Clinch River. If you like trout fishing, it can get good!
