Go to Gatlinburg. Get a city trout permit. You can stand on the bridges in town and catch trout. Colored mash mellow work good fishes on the bottom.

Good info here I have always wondered about fishing in the area...
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6

What tcounty said about the trout is good and Douglas Lake is only 3 to 4 miles away from Pigeon Forge. Excellent fishing.

I love to trout fish in the Smokies. Fly rod or spinning rod. Must be a single hook artificial only.

I think in twin you can use bait. Gatlinburg has its own permit and rules. It’s been a while though.

Even still, I go to the little red in Ar a couple times a year and fish 95% of the time with a spinning ultralight. Rapala makes several baits they can’t resist and they hammer them.

While you are there stop at the first bridge entering gatlinburg. It’s a kid only fishing spot but it’s also has a trout hatchery. Kinda neat to see
