Default Fishing with Bassett in his new boat 6/21/19

Pat lives in Melbourne, Florida but he spends the better portion of summer and fall up here fishing for White bass mainly with some crappie and bass fishing thrown in. He is camera shy so I only got him to pose for one pic, but he caught several fish. More white bass than I did. Much more.

We started off in his favorite spot for white bass and together, we landed about 15 white bass and I caught a trashy green LM bass on first cast. Pat added a 3 lb Striper aka Rockfish and I caught a crappie in this area which is a popular spot, but I’ll just leave fishermen to study the pics to see where we were.

Then we changed gears and started crappie fishing and the first two or three places that we wanted to fish either had a boat on it and in one particular spot, we were slowing down to get in position to fish it and a trashy green fisherman in his bass boat ran by us and cut in front of us and began slinging lures, effectively cutting us off. We see this kind of courtesy from bass fishermen from time to time. Selfishness personified.

So I suggested another spot, which was a dock and it was a good call. We landed 22 crappie and I had one that was a TARP sized 14” Black crappie. Much fun with my friend today. I fished with Minnow Minders all the time and Pat fished with Bass Pro Shop 2” baby Shads in various colors. Color didn’t matter today.

79.7 surface temp in Pat’s boat and 45,000 cfs flow rate.

DK Close enough for government work on my handle
I had a great time with my perfesser for crappie. We fished and carried on like old times and it was patterns and fishing like the old days.
We didn't do anything we haven't done before, so thanks for filling my back seat today and having fun.
We really should do this again!
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean there is no one out to get you

Those white bass are fun... heck they are all fun... even the slimers! Good Job!
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
