    Default JPP Favorite Crank Colors

I started fishing JPP exclusively this year and have done ok in the bay I was fishing. But have a feeling the fish have moved out along the river channel. I have fished the TN river out of Cuba Landing for years but got tired of the Carp. What are your favorite colors for trolling and what depth are you normally trolling in the summer. I have an extensive collection of bandits, bombers, and a few pico's. The best color I have used so far has been Bandit 100 and 300 Splaterback. I also have had some luck on 6a Bombers in green and brown crawdad. I keep two down rods for the bandit 100's. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Don

Blue and chartreuse has been my best color. I like 18-22 ft of water midday. Early in the day will go a little shallower, maybe 14-16 ft. Good luck and be careful of others on weekends especially!

I'm no expert but I've caught more crappie on a bomber 6a red crawdad than anything else.

I'm with TerryD on the footage ranges. My most consistent bandit colors are fancy bluegill and sun perch. Grenada Green is my go-to Pico. I start every trip with those tied on.

I have all the colors but fancy blue gill. I'll remedy that soon.

I appreciate all of the help. I haven't had a problem with traffic yet. But I'm fishing out of the Fate Sanders area and away from the main lake. Also I don't fish on weekends or Holidays. I have brought home an average of 8 a trip until last time. I'll check one more time to see if they are gone out of the bay and if so will follow off the river channel until I find the shad.

    Thanks,

My go to colors are the Pico Mud bug, Geezer clown and Pink spatter, in Arkie's the pink with black stripe, clown and red craw, next trip out I'm going to try the Pico Zombie. Shad colors have also been good a little later in the summer for me. This time of the year I try to hit the water at day break and quite when the jet ski's and ski boats start coming out (around 10:30). Wish I could fish during the week, a couple more years..........
