    Default Number of rods question

Yesterday I was trolling with a friend, pulling cranks. I was using three rods, and my friend said that in TN that is the maximum. I thought I had read that there was no such limit, but he insisted that it was there. He even pulled out that regulation magazine you get at most sporting goods stores, but could not find that reg. So, what's the verdict? Is there a limit on numbers of rods, or as I suspect, a limit on numbers of hooks per rod? Or are we both wrong and need to stick to tight lining one jig since we are obviously clueless? ;-)

page 11 in Tennessee regulation book
    POLE or ROD LIMIT
unless otherwise noted in this guide or by proclamation, their is no limit on the number of poles an angler May have in use.

Unless otherwise restricted in this proclamation, anglers are restricted to a maximum of 3 hooks per rod, pole or hand-held line. Single, double
or treble hooks each count as one hook. The statewide hook restriction does not apply when using a sabiki rig (also known as piscatore rig) to take shad or herring. A sabiki rig is a set of small lures attached to a single line typically used to catch baitfish.

When I'm spider riggin' I normally use 4 poles. My rig holds 6 but I found that 4 is more manageable when you run through a school of fish.
And Slab is correct, on the number of poles and hook limitations.

The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.

Some of the TWRA managed fishing lakes may have a three pole per person limit. Don't have the regs in front of me but had a game warden tell me this several years ago.

Ok here is the Tennessee Fishing Guide. Page 8 specifies rod/pole limits and hook limits per rod/pole state wide.
Pages 12 - 18 describes reservoir specific regulations.
