    Default Crappie Chick 03/29, 04/07, 04/10

Here is a quick summary of the last few trips:

On 03/29 we started in spawning area and picked up a few and then hit a few docks, wound up keeping 11 with the biggest being 14" and the overall quality of what we caught was good. We probably threw back another 10-15, I caught more on docks and structure.

I fished again on 04/07 I started a little late (8:00AM and quit just before 11) and the spawn was in full swing - the males had on their tuxedos and anywhere I caught one fish I would pick up 4 or 5 more, I did not keep any fish but did actually keep count this time - I caught 15 keeper size fish in just a couple hours and caught around 20 keeper size when I stopped just before 11am - the biggest was just over 14" and quite a few over 12" - overall a very fun morning.

I took a friend from work on 04/10, he wanted some crappie to eat, we started at daybreak and fished until just after lunch and kept 26. The biggest was 13" and the fish were more scattered than 04/07 and the males were not as dark as a few days earlier. Out of the fish he cleaned only one still had eggs and the rest just had the yellow dye. We also picked up a few in spawning areas but we caught more on docks and structure.

We were using various BG jigs with 1/32 or 1/24oz heads each day and here are a few picks:
The first pick is from 04/10, the second is from 03/29, and the third and fourth are from 04/07.

Looks like spawning fish to me, the first wave are certainly doing their thing. Nice catch and report, lots of Crappie being caught right now.

    Good Job!
'Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see:
The blind see and the lame walk; lepers are cleansed and deaf hear; dead are raised up and poor have the gospel preached to them.
And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me... Matthew 11:4-6
