Default Looking For Help On Reelfoot

Hey there Tennessee members, me and 7 others guys from our club up here in northern Illinois are
making the drive down to Blue Bank Resort on Saturday, March 9th to fish on Reelfoot. I'm not
asking for anyone's favorite hot spot, just some general information, like the following:

    1. How high is the water over normal pool at this time?
    2. What would you suggest as a good search method, other than spider-rigging?
    3. What jig colors are best in Reelfoot's waters at this time?
    4. If you feel inclined to recommend, where's a good starting point?
    5. Since we are renting a boat, what do you consider the best methods for catching crappie?
    6. Any other info you'd feel like sharing?

My partner and I have hired Kirk Palmer for Sunday to kind of give us an idea of things to do,
but I'd like to know before I get there, to see if I need to update my gear before we leave, for
    the rest of the trip.

And lastly, "THANK YOU" for taking the time to read and maybe give us a headstart!
If any of you every need information on Rend Lake or Lake Shelbyville, in southern Illinois,
I would be honored to provide that information. I fish for crappie on those two lakes here
in Illinois, almost exclusively. Thanks again! If you don't wish to post a reply publicly, please
feel free to send me a PM.

The water is 1 1/2’ to 2’ over what it normally is this time of most years (Reelfoot is really dependent on rain amounts and we’ve had a lot recently). Only 2 ramps on the south end are useable that I know of.
I can’t help much else because I only spider rig with double minnow rigs. I tried jigs for a couple of years without much luck. Fishing is pretty tough now, I caught 5 on Monday and Friday this week but only 2 today. Water temperature was up to 48-49 but is back down to 42-43. With the cold weather coming in tomorrow I would say it’s not going anywhere but down.
The guide and the folks at Blue Bank will point you in the right direction.
