    Default Muddy crappie 1/01/19

Mr S and I made the first crappie trip of the year and we might have been better off sleeping in and then watching the bowl games. Lolol

it was muddy water nearly everywhere that we fished. We did find some cleaner water in one bay but got no bites in there. TVA spilling 127,000 cfs and water temp was 51.5 which isn’t bad for this time of year. I guess that the rain that we had was a warmer rain.

We found fish under one dock of all the docks that we fished. We caught 7 there but only 2 keeper size. All fish released. We fished from 8 until 11:45 am. We also looked for fish in brush and roadbeds, shallow and deep. Depending on the area, the fish were graphed anywhere from 5 to 18 feet deep. Chickamauga has a ton of baitfish in it.

We we didn’t get skunked and for the first crappie trip in a while, I’ll take it. Grin

Chocolate Soup for most lakes right now. The creeks are clearing up some. Nice way to ring in the New Year, I finished it in the same fashion, catchin a few Crappie.

Strike King Slab Slanger pumpkinseed/Chartreuse was it for me. Grin. We tried several colors. I blame our lack of success on the guide. Me. Lolol.

Rain, rain go away! Glad you got to test the water.
