Great job on finding some good fish on a short trip! Hope you get completely over the crud before long!
I have been a little bit under the weather the past 4 days but feeling much better today and needed a fishing fix really bad. So, I went out at 9:30 this morning and fished until 11:40 but when the wind began to pick up, I thought that wisdom dictated that I put the boat back on the trailer and go have my second cup of coffee.
Fishing was tough. I only saw two other fish caught and it was by a boat trolling for crappie. But, I figured out what I needed to do to catch a few. I caught a tournament limit of 7 nice keeper crappie. Bonus fish was a Blue catfish that weighed about 6 lbs, give or take a pound. A two pound channel catfish ended my catching.
My biggest crappie was 13.5” and smallest around 11.75-12” range. Good freezer fish for sure. The weather turning sour this next week, so I’m glad that I made it out today. It was sunny and mild this morning, but predicted high for Thursday is a balmy 39 degrees. Grin.
Water surface temp was 51.7 degrees and wind calm for an hour or so before it began to slightly pick up in speed. I stayed warm, but I haven’t completely healed either. Lolol.

Been sick here since Thanksgiving, got out a bit yesterday and did some bank fishing for a few hours. Nice Crappie, wind was howling here early. Glad you got out before the cold weather comes in.
