Hate to hear that. Do you have insurance on your boat? If so, maybe that will help ease the pain of replacing stuff.

The wife and I were in the restaurant there on Friday evening. This was their last weekend before closing for the season.
It's a shame but this crap goes on everywhere. So many drug addicts trying to support their habit. I will never leave my boat unattended without removing my tackle and graphs. I live in the general area so if I hear of anything I'll let you know.

I think we ended up with 30 crappie for the week. Out of the whole week we only had 2 crappie that were undersized. That dreaded 9&3/4". LOL. Everything else was nice. Very healthy fat 11-13". Everything we caught were in the 12' depth. We tried deeper and shallower. 12' was the magic depth. Minners out fished the jigs big time.
Darn Asain carp are all over Cypress bay. Water temps was 66*
THE BAD-----Friday night some dirtbag stole my Lowrance HDS 9 touch screen depth finder, and a St Croix rod with a Diawa Revos reel. I think losing all my waypoints hurts more than anything. Another boat lost a depth finder and 2 rods & reels and another lost a trolling motor. Keep your eye out for someone selling this stuff. If you notice anything contact the Henry County Sheriffs dept. Sure ruins a good fishing trip. Took me 2 years of saving up to get the depthfinder.
    Terrible,hope they catch them

It may not be politically correct, but there are some dirtbags out there! Hope you catch them. Sorry you went through this. I had it to happen several years ago. However, I never did recover my items nor did they find who stole them. Hope they find yours and those who took them.

Cypress Bay doesn't have a restaurant. Cypress Springs right next door does.
Im doubt anything will be recovered. It just put a gray cloud over an otherwise good vacation. I take my stuff off and put it out of sight in storage compartments. There is locks on them but they are not of much benefit.
Either someone just took what they needed to put together a nice fishing rig or just some drug head selling stuff for drugs. Shame cause they will probably sell a $1000 depth finder for $50 bucks.
Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.

Duh. I definitely flunked reading a comprehension on your post. I am up at Cypress Springs once in a while for dinner and I also fish up there several times a year. I read Cypress Bay and my brain went straight to Cypress Springs.

LOL. All I got to say is you are close to some dang good fishing. I am hoping to retire and move to that area in the next few years. We been looking for something that fits our budget. I have a mighty small budget. ):

I also lived in Illinois just over the river from St. Louis. I lived around Dupo, Belleville and Millstadt and spent my last 10 working years in a shop in East St. Louis.

We had been coming down here for years fishing and hunting with friends who lived in Murray Ky. They were also from the same area we lived and we knew them when they lived there.

We bought our place here in 2011 and moved here full time in 2014. We still come up that way several times a year to visit family and friends but I don't miss living there at all.

I think half of the folks in my neighborhood came from Illinois.
