Thread: The 2 pound plus fish pot

MTCC started a new pot at last Thursdays meeting that does not pay unless a 2 pound or larger fish is taken in one of our monthly points tournaments. We agreed on $20 per person for this extra pot. MTCC has not seen a 2 pound fish taken since one came in back in March but 2 different guys from 2 different teams presented one at the tournament we had Saturday at Normandy lake. One came in at 2.03 Toby Ivey pictured on the left and the other came in at 2.01, Jamie Johnson pictured on the right. The extra pot of $280 was split evenly between them. We were going to make this pot be sort of like the lottery, meaning if nobody catches one each month we would all have to reenter till one gets caught but instead we settled on a larger entry and it be a one time buy in. We all will start over again next month and see what happens.

This is a very interesting idea about a two pound pot. I like the lottery idea. Perhaps the big fish fee of $5 per boat or person could go to the two dollar pot instead of paying big fish at each tournament. Something to consider.
