Default Anyone fishing Old Hickory Lake?

Hey guys and girls I’m new to crappie.com and also crappie fishing really lol.

Im 32, I’ve fished all my life but mainly river smallies in East TN or offshore fishing, but I do slightly remember trolling for crappie with my Grandfather at a young age in Eastern TN where I’m originally from.

My wife recently moved to Gallatin TN.

Just wanted to see if anyone is fishing Old Hickory or Percy Priest. Would be great to find a fishing buddy/ mentor.

Just wrapped up a deal on almost new 2070 Lowe cc, and ordered millennium road holders, side kicker stand and seats.

It has dual Lowrance fish finders on it, and a 70lb minkota powerdrive with ipilot. Once I get my tackle and gear I should be ready to hit the water.

Don’t care to take my boat at all or we can take yours, and I will Help with gas

Also enjoy catfishing anything to get me on the water. Mainly able to fish on Saturday or Sunday.

Thanks! Yeah I’m not even sure if it’s a good crappie lake or not, I figured I would try it for awhile, also Percy Priest, Reel foot in time as well as KY Lake as well. I’m sure it will be a long term learning experience lol.

Congrats on getting into the crappie game. Congratulations on a sweet sounding boat. Can’t help much up there but when you start hitting kentucky lake area holler. Welcome to attend our shindig on the 12/13 th of October. It will be at draffinville, Ky in the mike miller park. Should be only an hour and half drive for you. Give you a chance to meet members, pick up some tips and have a great meal.

Guy I appreciate the info. I am looking forward to getting out on the lakes around me and giving it a shot. I really want to get good at spider rigging, and jigging.

It’s the west Kentucky guys from the kentucky forum . Buffalo13 and whiskers started it several years ago if I am remembering correctly. It’s open to any crappie.com member. It’s a two day event. A fruit jar tournament Friday followed by met and greet. Usually whiskers famous chili Friday evening. Saturday is seminars and a lot of food with door prizes. A lot of fun, fellowship, and useful information is delivered every year to the attendees. There is a sticky on it in the kentucky forum. Use search engine and put in shindig and previous years threads with pics should come up for an insight of past fun.

Sounds like a lot of fun! I work on a 7000 acre row crop farm, and we will probably be harvesting pretty heavy then, but if I can get off Saturday the wife and I will attend! My boss is letting me off for the duck blind drawing in a couple weekends so just maybe lol! Again I appreciate the invite! What time does it usually start and end on Saturday?
