    Default Crappie with Wanda 7/06/2018

My wife Wanda went fishing with me today on the second voyage in the new Tracker. We had another hour or so of break in on the new motor, but we did fish several of the off shore spots that I needed to mark on the new Lowrance Elite 7.

I was successful finding the hot spots and was able to get a waypoint on them. Several spots had fish on the cover that is in the areas that I look for. We landed 10 keepers with Wanda bringing in the biggest at 12 7/8” long and very healthy. We had several short fish as well.

We had at least 5 more keepers pull off at the boat including the first three as I was easing the net under the fish and they just did a little flip and were gone. I had a big crappie flip off as I was lifting it instead of netting it. Bummer. I knew better too. That fish came from over 20 fet of water and as I was bringing it up, I kept thinking to myself, I ought to net this one, but the big dummy didn’t. Just tried to hoist it up. The jig was deep in its throat and I thought I could lift it.

I also caught the tiniest Smallmouth bass of my life on a 2” Bobby Garland slab slayer in 15-20 feet of water. It was no bigger than the lure. Grin.

Wanda and I both love the new boat, the ride, the new Terrova and Lowrance graph. I have my old Terrova for sale if anyone is interested.

Shoot me a pm for details.

Great report! I have been thinking about a new trolling motor. With my deep v, it has to have a minimum of 55” shaft. Feel free to pm me and we can see. I have a 36 volt, 109# MG now.

Good looking fish. The offshore stuff in the deep water is producing fish up here also. I like it when the heat puts them where I want them. The boat colors and wheels are snazzy.

SWEET! Nice pile of fish DK. My ride got gone this week, needed some operating capital for a building project. Will have to fish vicariously through you for awhile. Keep the reports coming

Nice boat and post. May this be the first of many successful outings on the new craft.

Congrats on a good trip with the wife. I have to concede the smallest smallmouth record to you. Thought I had it but you beat me by several micro ounces.
