Walleye ?
I know this is a crappie forum but I would like to find out a lil info / not your honey hole ! in less your just want to share itAbout some Walleyes I don’t mind to drive to Tims, Woods ,Normandy ,Centerhill , Chick, or anyplace in couple hours One direction from Scottsboro Al , to try and locate some . We trolled Rock Island at the blue hole when in my teens don’t remember much about it though so if their is someone out their that would like to take a trip or share some info with me that has the know how I would like to give them a try I know lots of folks say wintertime is best but I can’t travel in the cold weather due to work!
and I hear of them being caught in the spring. Any info or pms are welcome Thanks and have a great day.SP

If you want walleye, take a vacation day or two and head north to the Detroit River. I was there yesterday with two buddies and we caught our 15 fish, 3 man limit in 1 hour 15 minutes. Stuck around for a couple more hours and played catch and release and boated another 20-25. Probably another week to week and a half before the white bass come in to spawn and eat your bait before the walleye do. Good times!

Why wait till spring, you can catch walleye all summer trolling dale hollow lake. Went last summer and got 4 nice ones with largest of 27". Get rigged up for trolling with planer boards. Downriggers help but not a necessity as you want to target the feeding eyes. Troll off drop offs and dont discount the suspended bait in the deeper water. See where you marking the fish and adjust weight and speed to get the baits where they need to be. I was using spinning crawler harnesses, you definitely need line counter reels also. I wish it wasnt a 7 and 1/2 hour drive from sc otherwise thats all i would do.
I don't fish for them, but know several that do. Tims and Center Hill has a good population of them. Dale Hollow would be another hour drive, also has good numbers and probably bigger fish.
