    Default KY Lake Big Sandy

Anyone else having difficult time finding “keeper” fish? We fished Swamp Creek area Friday & Saturday, and ended up a little disappointed. Lots of small crappie, but very few over 10”.

Fished a tournament out of Paris landing Thursday and Friday. Didn’t get a bite Thursday. Caught 9 keepers Friday and probably 10 shorts. By keepers I mean had to squeeze the tail on all but 2.

We were 3rd and winner was 6-1/2# with 7 fish. They really need to consider changing the length limit up there to 11” or 12”. Fish look really pitiful.

Fished that area Saturday. Caught over 30 shorts. Only 2 keepers. It will get better soon. The good fish are holding tight to 1 particular piece of structure. If you can find that 1 spot you can have some fun. I couldn't fish where I was marking good fish Saturday for the high winds.

Biologist laugh when people talk about a length change to 11-12 in.They say the fish don't grow here like they do in miss.A 3yr old fish in miss are around 12inches,a 3yr old here is around 10inches.

The lake is waiting to bust wide open imo... Just need about 3 or 4 days in a row of good stable weather.

We'll be there all next week and I'm hoping for at least a couple days of good fishing.
