It’s been a while since I’’ve been able to get out, so there hasn’t been much to report. So today I decided to finally squeeze in my first trip of the year (sadly). Since it has rained for the last 65 days straight, I didn’’t have high hopes, but it was the only day I could grab with some sunshine. Went long lining in a new spot on Loudon, and next thing I know I’’ve got rods bowing one after another. Hit a few more new spots and stayed busy the whole time. I had planned on fishing the whole day, but within three hours I had caught a limit and started culling, so by lunchtime I decided to just head to the house to clean some fish and enjoy the rest of my day. Gotta love when a plan comes together. Water temp was 56. Color didn’t much matter, but black/chart, blue/chart and blue/black/chart were the favorites. Ended up catching 22 legal fish, and at least as many shorts.
By the way, for anyone launching from Concord, be careful!! Water’’s down so low that you’’ll drop off the end of the ramp trying to get your trailer in far enough. There was an older fella and his wife who’’d backed off the ramp and got stuck when I first got there. I tried to help them, but there wasn’’t much to be done. He was gone by the time I got back, so I guess they luckily they got it figured out eventually. Just a heads up, though.
