    Default Tennessee river

Went out fishing with my dad and Grandpa and caught 10 keepers and some slicks. Caught the bigger ones in 18ft of water and most of the other around deep brush piles right off the bank. Also around some docks. This is where the grass isn’t growing. However if you go down the river into the lake where the grass is... you can’t catch them around docks because the grass and the crappie are in the grass scattered out. However, I believe the crappie are transiting to shallow water. I would not fish where the grass is. Because first it hard to with a jig. But I would use minnows with a bobber around docks and brush piles. But I’ve found that fishing around 7-8ft brushpiles are docks hold more crappie. But where the grass is the fish aren’t on 18ft brushpiles yet just catching slicks nothing big. But you can’t catch them shallow either because they are all in the grass. So its just tough fishing where grass is. But Tennessee river where there isn’t much grass you can catch some under docks where brush is and some big ones in 15-18ft.
