    Default Ft. Loudoun today

The water is rising. The water is muddy. The water is 52-56 degrees. There is current. It was not ideal and not my best day. I just couldn't find them today, and I looked high and low, deep and shallow. Scratched out a few and brought four home for a meal. Dark colors were best. CB Slider, Junebug Chartreuse and Crappie Magnet bison scored the best. I am including a photo of the one female's insides. The eggs are mushy, and not veiny. I don't really know what that means?Name: IMG_0558.jpg

Those eggs look to still be a fairly bright yellow, so to me that says a few more weeks before they're ripe. When they get more of an orange-ish cast to them is when I think they're about to go lookin for a "babydaddy".

Thanks for the info! I love fishing for them, but something about me just doesn't want to interrupt that cycle. I know that's crazy. The other crazy part that I don't like is having to take a number to get in a creek!
