Default Chickamauga Lake 2/17/16 crappie report.

Day two of the CCS interim where a few of us guides help teach and take fishing some students from Chattanooga Christian School. We had classroom teaching yesterday. Today it was on the water with each guide taking either 2 or 3 students out for about 1/2 day. It was a tough day for almost everyone. Several fish were caught, but the water temp had dropped to 43 degrees and the lake has been falling, so the fish weren't in the best of moods. We had to really finesse the fish to get them to bite today.

We fished stumps, brush, and one dock that was productive. 20 of the 21 students fished today. One student was sick and didn't make it today, so hopefully he will be there in the morning for the last day of fishing. Conditions have to be better tomorrow.

One of the students that went with me had never been on a boat before and you should have heard him yell "Whee. This is awesome", when I put the boat on plane and we zipped down the lake at 31.8 mph. Grin. He also caught the biggest fish, a nice white bass. That was Dominick. Andrew caught a couple of really nice keeper crappie. One over 12" long. He thought he was hung up on the bottom when the fish first began to fight. We got started from Harrison Bay State Park around 8:15-8:30 and were back at the dock by 12:15.

    We are so blessed.
