Haven't been to Reelfoot in a long time, so I'm sorry not to be able to answer your question. But now I have a question of my own. Do they (yellow bass) school up in the summertime like white bass do to chase the shad or something? I only ask because I've never noticed a time when yellow bass weren't biting in waters where they are common. Don't think I've ever been to Reelfoot anytime without catching a few except when fishing the deep hole in cold water periods. Anytime I throw jigs or minnows in shallow water I seem to catch them no matter the season.

No idea about Reelfoot but the locals here on KY Lake would probably pay you to catch every last one of the little razor blades. I hate them and have the scars to prove it. They do eat pretty good in a pinch.

I agree with mrdux ,,those yellow bellies can be a pain when trying to catch crappie on ky lake.. On the plus side when thats all your catching they do eat mighty good,, right up there with blue gill IMO.... Matter of fact I am taking a mess home this weekend for the frying pan since I only caught 2 keeper crappie

Thanks for the reply's guys. I used to go to Reelfoot and catch some nice ones. They are good eating. I would love to come down to Ky lake and catch some. I just hate paying 50.00 for the fishing license. And yes they do school up in Reelfoot during the hotter months.
