Tellico Prespawn Crappie
Short evening trip was a very productive one. Made the run to a location I was hoping to find some prespawn crappie. Water temp was 61 around 4:30 pm when I finally got started. Had my limit within 2 hrs and culled for the last hour. The 3hr trip totaled 43 crappie plus several yellow and white bass. 12 inches was about as big as it got. Best plastic of the day was a blue/white Crappie Magnet over everything else.

Sounds good Tellico is turning on unless this cold spell shuts them down for a few days. I was wondering, if you caught 43 fish does that include shorts you put back? I was wondering if the keepers vs. throwback is getting better. Last year I threw back more than I kept but this year I kept more than I threw back and was wondering if that is the case with other folks hitting Tellico.

The keeper ratio has been averaging around 50% so yes 43 was the total number caught. Shorts and keeps.
Tellico has been improving the past few years but im not sure what has brought about the changes we are now seeing. Lets hope things continue to improve.
