What a great day to spend on the water. You are right about the acorns. They are big and plentiful this year.
Been a long time since I had a day with a lake like a mirror for 4 hrs. guess it's signs of things to come. Had the pleasure of sharing my boat today with my longtime childhood friend and newly retired general sessions judge James Watson. Got on the water about 8:30 and started tossing BG's of different colors and sizes. Rocky ledges seemed to be the ticket. Lot of baitfish around but the keeper sized seemed to be scattered. This fishery is going to really take off in about 2 yrs. Caught a wad of 4-5 inch fish. We did manage to get The Judge a mess for supper while dodging the acorns from the over hanging trees. Water was super clear but that will change after today

I'll second the acorn report, sat under a big tree full of quarter size ones and as they hit the aluminum boat and the crappie pulling the reel, it was fall music to my hears!
Thanks for the report.
Good report and glad you had good company and results.
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
