Default Nature and the weather changes they predict are more accurate than forcasters!

Other than my arthritis acting up, animals do things completely out of character days before a front moves into the area.
    ex.1
11 deer were in my backyard grazing like no tomorrow. A warm front with rain happened within 48 hours

ex.2 thousands of blackbirds covered the backyard a few days ago and

ex.3 yesterday a bald eagle dove into my pond going after fish. (Guess there's a first time for everything!)
Note: a snow storm is going to pack a wallop tonight and all day tomorrow.

Note: 2024 NY winter has been crazy warm with no ice on the pond, green grass growing, 50 degree days and intense sun light - in Jan. and Feb. no less!!! No wonder wildlife has been going nuts!!
Note: the frost that coated everything last night.

I've experienced the same thing when it comes to fish aggression. As a front approaches, fish slam lures all over the place like it's their last meal! Little fish get caught on 8" lures plus quality (size) increases.

Back in the days of Bass fishing I loved to be fishing a Big Gun or Sluggo while watching a Front's Squall Line heading my way. Man did the Bass get Electrified on the Bite. Observation of or Situational Awareness is one of the things I preach too. Many don't know why they had a scratch trip fishing but few pay very close attention to why they Loaded the boat too. The Why's are the secret to making everyday a good day to me.

5" thus far and still snowing
Guess the deer and bald eagle won't be active today! (...and neither will I for that matter...)

Beautiful scenery there. We are expecting some snow here tonight.

Snowing now. Most of the pond either unfrozen or black ice.

Wind last night a steady 30 mph! Daytime: a sunny 38 degrees and 20 mph

Beautiful! We got about an inch or so overnight. We are also ready for spring although we have had a mild “winter”.
