    Default 7/30 Wylie Report

Launched at B. Boyd water was clear, not what I was expecting with all the recent rain. Had a slight breeze and overcast, perfect conditions. Only saw a few boats. Strange!!!
Fished a couple brush piles that were close together and scanned open water. Didn’t crank the motor for 3 hours. No it wasn’t great but I was enjoying the fishing. Caught fish with some keepers and one big fish. Well then sun popped out and it got hot. Fired up the motor and started fishing fast on brush with limited success. Seems I hit a lull 11:00-2:00. Wind got more than I wanted and the boats came out. Had one more spot I wanted to hit before calling it a day. It was pretty good and finished with a limit. Only had 1 picture fish. Felt great to be back on the water after 2 weeks. Oh, the water temp was 83-85. A few degrees cooler than the last time I fished. Maybe a few more degrees would help the bite. The fish are there but hard to get them to bite. The open water fish were more willing than the brush fish, but the open water fish are harder to find. Wished I had road north to see where the dirty water is!!! Surely the S. Fork is running RED. Name: IMG_4856.jpg

if you find the heavier stained water, you should find more open water fish....

Was wondering where you'd been. Good report and better luck than I've had recently in my area. I've got the same haircut as you! Works best in this danged weather!!
