Default Advice: Fishing Lake Murray/Saluta River

My mostly adult family are going to the Saluta River area/Lake Murray next week Saturday thru Thursday. Would like to catch Crappie if possible. We are staying in a VRBO on the Saluta River end near Big Mans Marina. Never been there before. Has anyone any advice or locations to best fish? Thanks in advance...<{{{><

Usually the Bridge at Big Man's and the one at Riverwinds holds fish. Lots of sunken brush piles on that end of the lake
    if you can find them.

That's my old stomping grounds. Granted I haven't fished that end of the lake in several years. You can run back up river into Clouds Creek. There's some stumps and brush up there. Check some of those secondary points if you are trolling, you can usually find some holding on those.
If you stay in the main river channel, you can try the islands across from the powerlines in the Camp Barstow area. Again there is some stumps and structure around those. If you go past the powerlines, make sure you have good maps and stay in the river channel.
