Default Help! I need a "Plan B" for Santee in April

Hey guys, the last e\several years we've stayed a number of times in the cabins at Stumphole Landing. They're booked the whole month of April! Not good.
Any specific suggested motel(s) in Santee or any to avoid?
Or any cabins? Maybe over at Jack's creek?

You might can try the motel at Taw Caw creek Campground. I’ve stayed there without issue. Carolina Kings in Jacks creek would put you further up the lake but I don’t have any knowledge of that place. Hopefully some others will chime in.

Thanks. Maybe someone will chime in about Carolina King.
I'd really like to be up on that end and prefer a cabin.

Check on cabins at the state park.
I enjoy staying there and trailering to other ramps and creeks l want to fish.
I have put in at state park ramp and crossed lake to Jacks creek also.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

Forgot about the State Park, I'll check that out. Called Carolina King & seems very nice but the only thing they have left is a 3 night minimum and a little more than we want to spend. I'm sure it's worth it, but we'll be up & gone at dawn and fish all day. We just need a clean bed and shower.
May have to check out the motels in Santee. Just hate having to empty the boat af everything not bolted down in case of a midnight visit from any local "varmints".

Dont forget to look up some vrbo's. Lots of times you get the whole house trailer or house and it's cheaper than motels.

I’m 20 minutes from Carolina King and have heard firsthand some bad things about the place. A few from our forum rented there and had all their gear stolen from their boats the first day, which were parked between their cabins. Obviously their trip was over so they asked the owner to refund their remaining days and he told them he wouldn’t. No one around here likes the place and very few people will even put their boat in there. He locks the one lane ramp up at 7pm until he gets back there the next morning. Would not recommend the place to anyone.

Good to have first hand info on a place, particularly bad or unethical behavior.
And we did see some reasonable Air B&B's and would suggest this for anyone staying a few days. I may investigate this further to convince my wife Santee IS a vacation destination, LOL.
I did find a place down in Eutawville we may try so THANK YOU to everyone.

If youre not going to be able to stay on the water then check out the motels in Pinewood. VERY affordable and about 20 minutes out.

Pinewood would be a good option on those weekends I want to run up to Black River on a day trip in addition to Santee. (Love Black River!) This is good information to know, being 3 hours away. When I go down there I fish and have little time to explore options. Local knowledge is very helpful. Thanks!
