    Default Clarke Hill

Blessings and Merry Christmas fellow fishermen. I知 going to try to get over to Clarke Hill soon. Have any of you ever used the boat ramp at Baker Creek State Park? My thinking is state parks are generally less targeted by those who want free stuff out of my vehicle while I知 fishing.

Yes, I've used that ramp several times. It's a nice place and your stuff will probably be safe there. That said, be aware that there's no dock there so you'll have to beach the boat to get in/out. The ramp is also pretty steep so don't unlatch the winch strap until you're at the water. Are you after crappie or striper? Both should be in that area now.

Thanks so much for your reply and tips on the ramp. Greatly appreciated.
We池e going to longline the SC Little River and try to get a few crappies. I fished there before but used a ramp much farther down the lake than Baker Creek is. I知 trying to cut down the trip time from launch to lines in the water. My pontoon is not a speedy one but it is perfect for crappie fishing.

Ive rode past it a few times but never used that ramp. It's not a bad run to English Creek and not all that much farther to Lone Cane Creek. Good luck longlining. Be sure to let us know how your trip went.

I will let you know how it goes. I知 hoping to go either Saturday or Monday. Both have favorable winds which I look for, the pontoon doesn稚 always track well while long lining in the wind.
