    Default Wylie with the grandkids

My son Greg and his three boys came over around 6 pm and we had pizza and got our plan together for a short trip on the lake. Got loaded up and on the water at roughly 8 pm with high hopes for the boys to catch some fish. Well, it didn't turn out quite that way for any of us as the fish didn't get the memo. We fished Torrance branch at one of the usual places where we always mark fish, and we did last night also. Took about an hour and only one fish. I'm not one to pick up and move but I think I should have last night. We fished until 11 pm and only had 8 crappie and one catfish. All fish released when caught so we did have any floaters after being held in the live well with only a couple a little longer than 9 inches. Rough night for sure but nice to be out fishing with the family. Henry was the first to roll up his lines to take a nap and followed shortly after by David. Had we been catching they would be like any of us talking trash to each other, but it was a quite night for all of us. I caught the first and last fish. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Hopefully we can go again and be more successful next time. Didn't even look for temp of water but it was a nice night and clear sky no humidity. Thanks fellows for going with Paw Paw. Nothing worth taking pictures of in the dark. I don't light up my boat like others do.

Glad to see that you, your son, and the grands got to spend another evening out on the water together. Hate it they didnt bite better for yall but the boys understand why it's called fishing instead of catching. You just gotta take the good AND the bad sometimes. Better luck on the catching part next time.

Good to get out with family and enjoy the time together. Hopefully next time the fish cooperate more.

I'm glad to see the boys got paw paw off the sofa and out on the water! Even though it was a slow night I think that will be a lasting memory. Thanks for the report
