Default 09 September Wylie night stalk.

Between the full moon and the wind the pattern I had was dead lol
I sat for 2 hours only catching 2 keeper crappie. About 10:30 decided to call it a night and started to reel in the bobber and caught a nice 12” fish
Tossed the bobber back out, it sat for 10 minutes nothing. Started reeling it in and bam another big crappie. So I grabbed a slip float rig I had and set the depth at 1-2’. Tossed it. I would reel it a few feet and stop then reel it again. Almost every cast they would pop it on the second time. I ended up catching 25 real quick that way. Never caught another near the lights. It didn’t matter where I threw the slip rig either. I also tried a jig just to see only 1 hit. They were feeding just under the surface.

Strange how they will act some nights. I've had them circling under the lights with the bait like they were mesmerized. Glad you found the trick that works. I don't use a float, but I do cast out to the dark and reel in slowly and find a few biters when things get slow. I hope you keep the post coming I enjoy reading them. Thanks for the float info!

Thanks for your report and another idea on a way to fish on a slow night.
