Default Crappie night stalk 20 august

I hope everyone is well. I finally got out on the water. Been a long time. Was surprised at how few were out Saturday night. The weather was perfect. Slight breeze felt great
I run up in Crowders to the second power lines. The bite wasnt bad, It was just weird. I anchored in 23’ near a cut. Plenty of bait just not many fish. I never caught a single perch.
I ended up with around 40 crappie but only had 12 that were over 8” and only 2 over 12”.
Like I said the bite wasn’t bad just not much quality.
I seen several people anchored under the Buster Boyd bridge. I didn’t want to bother them fishing but I think the bite would have been better out in the open water.
Plan on going back I might run up to Catawba creek next time.

Hope you do get out again soon. Glad you had it by yourself. Last time I went to Crowders it was busy with traffic. I had the grandkids with me, and they had a blast with the smaller crappies biting good. Thanks for the report and good luck next time out.
