    Are you talking stripers/hybrids or crappie turning on when temps hit 70? I totally agree if you are talking crappie. For the stripers I like it colder, but I fish mostly artificial.

    I'm talking about crappie since that's about all I fish for but in general it seems all fish start getting on the move and feeding up some as the water cools. I'm sure the optimal temps are different for different species but that's a good starting point to me. JMO............

    Most were caught on live herring. Both downlines and flatlines were effective. A couple were caught on top water.
