    Default Quimby Creek

Has anyone ever tried fishing Quimby Creek off the cooper for crappie? We were out driving around the other day and stumbled on the boat ramp off of 41. Fished off the dock for about 20 minutes and caught several bluegill, a rock bass, and a pickerel. The area looked great to me for crappie also. Definitely going to have to take the boat out there.

Crappie are abundant, I’ve fished that area, the Back River, Goose Creek Reservoir and other areas in and around the Cooper River. The bite is best in late fall through early spring. I fish the Santee Cooper lakes all other times of the year. The bite seems best during the changing tides especially high to low. Pushing minnow tipped jigs is what works best for me.
