Good luck. Ts in the 90s here so the wake boaters will be out in force. I am staying home
Anybody else going after 'em?

You need intervention!! When a Retired Man fishes on the weekend he needs help. Hope the pleasure is worth the pain.

It's been in the mid-nineties here too. I saw three wake boats and another truck with two jets skis on a trailer at the local store getting provisions for a day of noise and mayhem on Shearon Harris Lake.
I'm guessing the days of (both) easily getting in and out at the ramp and enjoying any sort of peace and quiet on the water are pretty much over with for the next 5 or 6 months.

You'd be surprised. I saw one other crappie fisherman along with his party, a very few bass boats (maybe 4 or 5), and one jet ski @ 11AM. The fish bit good and I was off the lake by 11:15AM. Now the ride home was a different story. Met LOTS of pleasure boats and a few water lice headed to the lake. I wont complain. It's their time of the year.

I was the "other guy" out there, lol, (great to see you Butch!) and I can vouch for how totally quiet and peaceful (and unexpected!) it was on a beautiful Saturday morning in May.
We had a ball and found fish in all three places we tried. As I came off plane to start my trip, I believe Butch had three on once. Now THAT'S how you know it's going to be a great day!
Crappie of all sizes were in abundance, and I was surprised and pleased when we also landed five catfish, including three blue cats (which doesn't happen that often where I fish).
Like Butch, I was really pleased with the bite, but ready to put it on the trailer at noon and find some a/c!
