I tried some Jigs I had with those colors best I could match Tuesday afternoon. I caught a lot of crappie on them still have to wade through small fish to get a few keepers.

Gabowman do you see the same thing going into fall?
The mayflies are starting to show up at Clarks Hill already. Last weekend I caught several decent crappie from my dock under the light and a few mayflies were flying around. If they landed in the water for more than a few seconds they got diving lessons! When they're thick, the fishing with light jigs and light colors is AWESOME!

    Watremelon Red flake
    Smoke Black
Also got some solid colors I will try

Most likely an overkill but that is what I do. Over think things to tweak it.
Hard for me to just go out and enjoy God's creation. Once a while I do that but most of time I push myself.

Take a light jig and float them down above them. I also going to try to float them down on a slip bopper with a 1/ 64 jig on a calmer day just for fun.

I am not about numbers of fish caught but the thrill of one pole and trick that fish into biting.

Big Dawg, I scored three packs yesterday. I figured they were discontinued. Thanks for the offer. I got some now if you need any. What we really need is a couple hundred pounds of them shrimp to stock Wylie. Name: 67502150787__46BD523F-8F6A-4C90-84A2-A59CA7689C99.jpg

Tackleboat, I got more jigs than I need. Thank you for your offer. If I ever get down to a couple, I'll holler out!
I need to get busy and make up some for later use!

Man, those Tadpole color Bobby's work great! I have several packs in my boat.

I also like the Crappie Magnet in Dude Special color, in case some of you guys haven't ever heard of it. You can go to their website and buy 50 packs, I believe. They are readily available here in Arkansas.

those look like small crawdad's as well as grass shrimp so imagine they are big producers for crappie, BG and shakey head LM. great informative thread guys, thanks so much.

dang site won't let me post this as it keeps asking for more than 3 characters which this obviously has lot more than that.

BTW, the grass shrimp is GONE! Cleaned a limit of fish Tuesday and only "2" fish had a little brown in their stomachs. Beforehand...........every fish was packed with brown grass shrimps. Oh well, gotta find the food source theyre after now. Probably shad since I'm seeing bait balls again......
