Third stop paid off pretty good for it being a cold slow day on Wylie. The breeze had a damp chill to it when we started our fishing trip at 8:15 am. It was foggy and looked like it was not going to burn off anytime soon. Our first stop produced nothing. Fish were there but moving and not biting. After an hour of bumping around in search of some hungry fish we moved up into Big Allison halfway in deeper water and found the same thing fish not biting. Spent an hour there only one crappie. Moved again to the hump in 25 feet of water to find some perch cruising around but not hungry either. the sun decided to come out and the perch seemed to start biting then bam like a light switch they were gone. Ended up moving to Sug Harbour and setting up in a calm area in 34 feet and drifting a short stretch of bank line and started to catch some crappie. Spent the rest of the day in there just bumping along picking up one or two here and there. Our catch was 15 crappies, 8 perch and two catfish. Water temp was 57* cloudy and foggy most of the day. I will say the breeze was a cold one when the wind blew against us. Had a few CDC guys out there besides us. Ofishlbizzness and Mr. Charles. My former coworker John Hammett was also out bass fishing. Had a great day again with Uncle Remus who was guide until the crappis started biting then I was awarded the post and remote! Can't wait to get out again a try to find some more with my friends. We may have to do the longlining trick next. Thanks for a great time spent with you Uncle Remus.
No picture except these two.
Yes! I caused that tangled mess when I became the captain.

Bigger bait catches bigger fish. Those twisted minnows was certainly a big bait

Sounds like the same conditions I ran in to yesterday on Wylie. I very much under estimated the cold weather. We weren't dressed for it all.

Had to laugh when I saw all those baits twisted together. As a longliner I KNOW how tangled messes are.
Persistence paid off for ya'll. Thats the way to run 'em down! Congrats.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.BigDawgg LIKED above post
We had bout same luck Dawgg. Cept Mr. Green wouldn’t let me have the remote. We tried Little A a while. 4 green carp and a slimer. Moved to Torrence and picked one here and there . Moved little farther into creek and found some hungry ones . Think he kept 12 crappie and 8-10 big perch . Slow but fun day. Be ready soon . Just gotta get me some wheels!.
