    Default Wylie 3-8-2022

Windy again. Stayed in Beaverdam all morning. Using long lines & drop shot rigs we caught 11 crappies & 35 perch. I think most of the fish came on the drop shot rigs down close to the bottom in about 25'. Big crappie was 1.9 lbs. Also, had several good size perch. Ran out of minnows about 11:30 so we loaded up.

Stayed close to the mouth. Did not mark much anywhere. Temp was 59 when we started at 7:30.

It’s time for Beaverdam to load up. I looked last week and found nothing. I focused on about half way back. Glad you found some.

Glad you hit that spot before me. I thought about going up there last week. I may visit it long lining next week. I like that cove better than Torrance. Good job Mr. Charles you are the man!

I was able to sneak out to Wylie yesterday afternoon around 3:00 and left around 5:30. I pulled drop shots with minnows and longlined some jigs. Caught fish from 30’ to 18’. Most were caught on the drop shots. Kept a nice limit with many throw backs.

So you put out a few rods with minnows on drop shots while pulling jigs at the same time? What size drop shot weights? That's a good idea.

I have a special 1 1/2 oz. weight for bouncing the bottom with 2 hooks above. If the fish are of the bottom I just reel them up some.
