    Default Transducer cable

You would think that as many boats as their are with depth finders on the bow they would make transducer with short cables

It would cost more that the standard cable. At least that is how it usually goes

Agreed DSJ, prices would be higher I imagine. Also thought about FF locations differ as well as ducers.

Every thing u read says u can't splice cable I find that hard to believe but can't risk it.
Could be a good business if u had the tec. To remove plug end Shorten and replace.

It gets to be a pain wadding up all that extra cable stuffing it in unseen compartments and under decks when theyre already full of wiring harnesses. Man! It looks like chinese powerlines where all my batteries are stored.

I would think that unless it is a proprietary plug to that brand FF. Then you can find a plug and shorten the cable. There are a vast amount of cable ends out there to choose from. A cable can also be spliced. I am fairly certain it is a sheilded cable and likely twisted pairs to prevent cross interference. The biggest issue would be finding out the pin out configuration for the connector.

    Depends on the unit.

3 wire older 200mhz flashers you could peel back the black cable jacket to expose the black and red and braided wires.

Then shorten and resolder to the connector pins.

What exactly is the unit model number?

Spent time on a lathe and mill myself. I really enjoyed the machine shop myself. Just common sparky language I was talking
