    Default Wylie late evening 01-25-22

Uncle Remus called me around 12 noon, but I wasn't available. I was in the dentist office getting a temp crown put on. Got back in touch at 1 pm and he said the magic words let's go fishing. Hashed out a plan on what we could do and decided that this was our only day that most likely we could go. Met up at Ebenezer ramp roughly 45 minutes later with minnows in tow with expectations of a few perch and a crappie or two. First stop not much to see so bumped on to another hangout and found fish in 44 feet of water hit anchor lock and got set up to fish. Nothing fast burning up our time, so we moved on just tightlining at .3. Covered a large area catching a few fish here and there. Ended up with 8 crappie and several missed with a couple throw backs being too short for the ride home. Had we more time it might have been a good day for numbers, but three-hour tour was over, and we headed is before it got to dark plus the temp was dropping fast with the breeze that had picked up. Wish we could have stayed but we'll have to get a better timing to do that. Thanks Uncle Remus for asking me to go it is always a pleasure to go with you. Not a picture worthy trip but if I remember tonight when cooking the fish, I'll snap a photo for you.

Glad yall got out and caught a few. It was a fairly nice day to fish considering. After fishing my truck said the temp was 62* but I never really felt warm all day. I stayed comfortable with two hoodies on though. I like seeing and hearing about the fish being scattered. Makes me think they are on the move. Also glad to see the skipper and the professor got out on their 3-hour tour.

Sounds like a nice day on the water, certainly better that a dentist chair.

Yall fishing structure? Those fish have been suspended in open water. I never saw a fish on any brush I marked when I was down earlier in the month, and I don't think that will change til they get frisky and decide to procreate.

No, we don't fish any brush they are all open water. We tightline all the time. Just a habit on the pontoon. We get our share most of the time.
