Thread: Fished Awhile Monday Morning!

Early on there was no wind and the temps were low 40's. Not bad at all. Later on the wind started blowing and it got up around 5-7 mph which was a nuisance but nothing to stop you from fishing. Water temps began @ 52*-53*. Where I fished water was pretty dingy but atleast you didnt see mud swirling around in it. I could actually see about 6" down the side ont eh motor shaft.

The fish I targeted was in 17'-24' of water on flats and the ones I was after was suspended around 15' deep. Lots of fish marked on the bottom too. I wound up pulling double jigs, one was a 1/16th and the other a 1/32nd. All I pull is southern pro curly tail grubs. Color really didnt matter but if I had to pick the one catching the most I'd say black with Chart tail. Light colors caught fish too in the very dingy waters so IMO it didnt matter as long as you pulled a jig by their noses.

Anyway, I boated 51 crappie before quitting. I fished from 8AM (did alot of looking around before putting lines out) and quit at 12:30. I brought home 14 fish to share with a lady friend that lets me hunt her property. I coulda kept around 10-12 more 10" or better fish but I still have fish in the freezer from last year so I didnt need 'em. The rest were short fish. Heres a couple pics I took during the tri.
