I havent fished Russell but I have fished the hill. Before all this rain and cold water I was doing alright with the crappies. Now? Who knows. Alot has changed since the last time I went fishing.

I was at the broad river this weekend and the mud and trash was still flowing. I bet the bite is tough on the upper end and in the creeks.
On a good note, I drove down to the Russel dam overlook as I was leaving and the gulls were diving like crazy. Man I wish I had a rod/reel/and bucktail with me!

Pulled jigs Sunday. They are scattered in the mouths of creeks in about 30 to 35 ft of water. Not quite schooled up yet. Caught several on 1/8 oz heads. Curly or paddle tails and black and chartreuse or pink.

Another good place for us was between the "S" turn and the ramp at Pearl Mill up Beaverdam creek. It's a long straight stretch for trolling. Just another spot you could try............
