    Default Clark Hill 12/3/21

Decided to switch things up and instead of hunting I went fishing. Knocked the dust off the boat and rods yesterday and enjoyed a very nice warm, sunny, windless day on the water. Trolled around awhile with big motor looking not finding much but put out lines anyway. Only caught a half doz perch after 30 minutes of longlining. Time to move.

On the second stop I saw fish on the graph immediately. And it was non stop on the graph. I should have tried single pole jigging on the bottom but I'm just too hung up on long lining. Ha!

Trick was getting jigs down to them but I did alright. Fished there for awhile and made another move finding the same thing on the finder. Lines were deep and fish bit sparingly. Like before picking up one or two here and there.

Size wasnt the best. Wished I was catching fish the size tackleboat caught but it wasnt happening for me today. Anyway...finished the day with a respectable...

...45 crappie caught. I kept enough to feed me, Deb, Dad, and his wife one evening next week. I dont know when I'll get to go again but today was fun. Since retired you would think I'd have more time now but so far I've had 9 irons in the fire every day. I quit fishing at 1PM today leaving 'em biting. But there will be another day of catching in my future (if the Good Lord's willing). Here's the fish I brought home.

Ya'll go ahead and get out of the woods and leave those deer alone! Just run them to me! Nice catching and I bet they going to be right tasty. Good day fishing beats not having to dressing a deer, I guess! I like the arches your unit is showing it really sets your heart to racing when you see fish like that. Good job!

Nice job Butch! Thanks for sharing. I received a report a few days ago that the longlining was tough at best. I guess it pays to know how to get to them.

My neighbor and I fished the Hill Friday and did about the same as you. The early bite was the best but once the sun got up it slowed way down. Trash on the water kept me from fishing some of the spots I wanted to fish so around 11:00 we loaded up and moved. The second spot was not much better but at least there weren't as many leaves on the water. Noticed a lot of single pole fishing at the second spot. The fish we did catch were deep esp. as the sun got higher. I'm like you. It's long lining for me.
