Fileted here in my house because of the grand kids and my wife is from Connecticut and doesn't know how to pull the meat off the bones! Just some things she refuses to learn. Me, I'm any fish is good with me!

I fillet all the fish we eat. The wife can't handle boned fish as she always gets a bone hung up so I stopped cooking fish on the bone. The kids and grandkids can go through some fillets.

My wife only eats fillets but she does want to bite the crispy tails off the whole fish but I wont let her. HA!. Same with my daughter. Me and my son LOVE the fish on the bone. To me they just taste different and ALOT better, especially after adding the amount of salt I like on my fish. They are more trouble though. I try to supply some fish to the folks that lets me deer hunt on their land so all they get are fillets....much easier to clean and I dont have to worry about them going to the ER at night.

Fillets for my family now. But growing up (many years ago) there was no filleting as my dad would say "your throwing the best tasting part of the fish away and wasting good meat".

Have you ever scaled them and then filleted them? That way you get the good taste of the skin without dealing with bones.
