I like both but my wife won’t eat em whole. :banghead
I fillet all the fish we eat. The wife can't handle boned fish as she always gets a bone hung up so I stopped cooking fish on the bone. The kids and grandkids can go through some fillets.
My wife only eats fillets but she does want to bite the crispy tails off the whole fish but I wont let her. HA!. Same with my daughter. Me and my son LOVE the fish on the bone. To me they just taste different and ALOT better, especially after adding the amount of salt I like on my fish. They are more trouble though. I try to supply some fish to the folks that lets me deer hunt on their land so all they get are fillets....much easier to clean and I dont have to worry about them going to the ER at night.:pray
The wife won't eat bone on so filets for us. I do miss the tails.
Fillets for us
Filet you don't have to worry about the bones easy to eat Poppy in and let him go
Fillets for my family now. But growing up (many years ago) there was no filleting as my dad would say "your throwing the best tasting part of the fish away and wasting good meat".
Filet for crappie. Whole for bream.
